We are accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council® and are members of the SFI® Sustainable Forestry Initiative, and we have also forged partnerships with companies around the world to bring the best quality sustainable lumber products to our inventory.
Not only does unsustainable deforestation contribute to global warming with greenhouse gases, but it also deprives us of clean air and fresh water. We rely on various forest products, such as paper and fuel sources, constantly in our daily lives.
LeNoble Lumber is committed to helping to preserve the forests of the world without compromising the quality of our products and the satisfaction of our customers. We recently became accredited by the FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®), an organization whose mission is to support the environmentally conscious management of forests.
LeNoble earned this distinction in 2008 by educating and promoting the benefits of FSC®-certified material to our customers. Through our efforts, we have more than doubled our sales of sustainable lumber in 2015—much of it to the film and television industry, which is one of the largest consumers of lumber products in the business.
Just like the FSC® Management Certification, all certifications from the SFI® require that internationally accredited certification bodies perform third-party audits regularly.
Not only is LeNoble committed to limiting our energy footprint in the management of forests, but we have also taken steps to limit our footprint in our daily business operations. For example, we replaced the traditional ballasts and bulbs in the workplace with more energy-efficient models, and we’ve sourced paper products made from recycled material. Instead of disposing of damaged materials, we use these materials to package our products to reduce waste and increase our energy efficiency.
We partner with FSC®-certified lumber producers around the world to provide high quality of products that are sustainably produced and sourced from responsibly managed forests. Some of the key environmentally friendly products we sell here at LeNoble Lumber include the following:
A few years ago, LeNoble Lumber participated in the 2013 Eco-Expo for Film & Television, which was hosted by Film Biz Recycling. Matt Dienstag, one of our Vice Presidents, represented LeNoble Lumber as a presenter at this event.
This event covered the various stories, pitches, and ideas of the environmentally conscious organizations in attendance. Matt was there to champion the use of renewable and environmentally friendly products, such as recycled wall skins and panels free of formaldehyde.
LeNoble is also listed in the Green Production Guide, a resource for filmmakers who want to source green products and services for their films. As part of our commitment to sustainability, LeNoble now distributes only FSC®-certified 4×10 Lauan plywood to film and TV set constructors!
